Acclaimed performance artist and writer, Victor Richards, is going to release soon his first poetry trilogy: Streets Paved with Gold, Return to the Caribbean & Children of the First Generation. The trilogy is based closely on his three similarly titled, and widely acclaimed, one-man plays.Talking about a poetry trilogy, Victor Richards says: ‘My performance and writing comes from the heart – not just mine, but the heart of several generations of West Indian culture. In the sadness, joy, frustration, homesickness and a thousand other emotions captured in my work, I hope that the honesty of every word will resonate with young and old, Asian, black and white alike. As with my one-man plays, I ask no more than that this work will be a useful educational tool for the now generation, a valuable historical record, and a powerful instrument for building cross-cultural understanding.’

Streets Paved with Gold at the Barbados High Commission(30th August 2007)

Victor Richards was invited to perform his play "Streets Paved with Gold" at the Barbados High Commission in London on the 30th August 07. His performance received a favorable reception. Now he is preparing to take his show on tour to Barbados and other Caribbean islands.

A Big Success at the Oval House Theatre in London (22-26 May 2007)

Victor Richards achieved great success as a one man performer in London. He performed his one man play “Streets Paved with Gold” at the Oval House Theatre from 22 – 26 May 2007 (7 shows include 2 matinees) It was his first opportunity to perform his play at one of major theatres in London after 10 years of his careers as an actor. The theatre was full almost every day. Some people missed the show because the tickets were sold out.
